Big Updates!!
Hey Friends! This is an EPIC Week! There is so much happening that we wanted you to be aware of!! Annie and Judson are getting Baptized! From before Annie and Judson were born, Melissa and I have been praying fervently for them to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Over the past year, our family would regularly have conversations about who Jesus what He did for us on our behalf. Independently of each other, both Annie and Judson responded to this good news by believing that Christ's work on the cross counted for them! They each have committed their lives to following Him personally! This Sunday, we will be celebrating these decisions through believer's baptism at First Baptist Church of Orange Park. I'll have the honor and privilege to baptize Annie and Judson as my new sister and brother in Christ during the 10:45 service. We'd love for you to join us in person or stream the service online. In addition to our kids getting baptized this Sunday, First Baptist Church of Orange Park will also be commissioning our family as their missionaries to Queens. There will be a special time in both the 9:15a and 10:45a services when they will take time to pray for us as we prepare to move. If you've been following our story, you know that this process has come with a ton of waiting. While we would've liked to have moved to the city as soon as possible, God, in His sovereignty, had us wait; and in this time of waiting, He has better prepared us, narrowed our focus, and has deepened our affection. While it felt as if a move would never happen, we know now that the time we spent waiting was extremely beneficial for our preparation. While we are starting a church in Sunnyside, we recognize that we're really not starting anything. Instead, we are joining in with what God is already doing through those who have come before and other brothers and sisters who are already diligently working to communicate God's love with our neighbors. We are excited to be a small part of God's work in this community! God's work didn't begin with us, nor will it be sustained by us. Instead, we are trusting that the same God who has called us into this work, invited others to join us, provided for our every need, and given us a vision for the future, will be the God who will work through us to draw many more people unto Himself. Gospel City Fellowship is the continuation of God's work in New York City. Because every great movement of God was preceded with prayer, we would ask that you would commit to praying more fervently for us and this work of God in Sunnyside. Specifically, we ask for these three things:
Pray for us to grow deeper in love with Jesus.
Pray for quick friendships and favor in our community
Pray for a move of the Holy Spirit to supernaturally draw people to Himself
We are moving! We are currently downsizing and packing in preparation for our move! We will be loading up at 4:00p on Monday and I'll be driving the UHAUL early the next morning.
