June Update! This is a BIG One!!

Thank you so much for being a prayer partner for us. We really couldn’t be doing this without you!
The month of June was an eventful month for the Floro family!
• Our sending church, FBC Orange Park, invited us to live in their mission house so we could save some money while we wait on the ability to move to New York. We’ve been able to get fully moved in and settled. It’s been a huge blessing for us!
• We’ve also been able to deepening our relationships with a few churches who are praying about and preparing to partner with us. We can’t share anything yet, but trust us, God is doing some amazing things we are so excited about! Please continue to pray that the Lord continues to put people in our path who are also passionate about His work in NYC.
• Finally, we’ve gotten word that we are able to begin making plans to move to NYC! We knew that COVID-19 would delay our plans and we are grateful that we can begin solidifying plans to move up this fall! This is great news but it also creates some hurdles for us to overcome. Would you begin praying for these prayer requests for us?
We are praying for the right apartment • As we begin looking for an apartment, please pray that God opens the exact doors to be in the exact apartment and neighborhood where He wants us. Navigating the rental market in NYC from Florida seems like it could be a really challenging endeavor.
We need to solidify our monthly income. We are currently 41% funded for our first year! We are excited about how God has already provided and are praying for God to lead more families and individuals to commit to both one time and monthly gifts.
Moving expenses • We believe we’ll need roughly $8-10k to make the move to the city. In order to acquire an apartment, we’d typically need a security deposit, first months rent, and a broker’s fee which is roughly equivalent to a months rent. We’re anticipating rent to cost about $2500/month for a two bedroom apartment in the neighborhoods we’re seeking to live in.
Financial Update - Our First Major Funding Goal
As things continue to progress, we are excited about our first major funding goal which will provide us stability to get to the NYC and begin work!
In order to be able to fully focus on church planting and making room for New York’s high cost of living, we are projecting a need of at least $8,000/month. We also will need about $8-10k in one time expenses to help us secure an apartment and move our belongings.
By partnering with North American Mission Board and the SEND Network, I’ll be able to work a part-time job up to 25 hours per week. Not only will this provide additional income, it will also give me an opportunity to build additional relationships in the city! Our total current need for the upcoming year will be $106,000.
We are currently sitting at $43,140 which puts us at about 41% funded for our entire first year. Any income we raise in addition to this will be used for ministry purposes and give us opportunities to reach out to our community!
Our Path Forward
We believe that we are in a great position moving forward! With your help, we can get to the city to begin building relationships, starting Bible studies, and sharing Christ’s love with people in the city. While we’re the one’s who are able to be on the ground full time in NYC, we would love to invite you to join in the mission alongside of us. We know it can be awkward to ask for a specific commitment and we DO NOT desire to be 'pushy'. Commit to praying for the work God is doing through us on a regular basis. One family has told us how they regularly pull out our prayer card and talk with their kids about the importance of planting new church and sending out missionaries. As a family, they pray for each member of our family. We’d love to send you a prayer card so you can do the same!
